Flexible connection of RS485 devices with Profibus-DP controllers (PLCs)
 
Application:
The Profibus gateway can be used to establish a data connection between a Profibus master and a RS-485 field bus.

The exchange of data is set in a GSD (device master file).
This gateway provides a very transparent manner the connection between fieldbuses. It is regarded as a dual-port RAM, which provides both sides shared data. The read and write access is thus always allowed.

On the front page you find the ads above for the traffic, for power supply and a fault indicator.
Below you will find the switches for setting the address (2 digits).

The connection to the Profibus is made ​​to the known 9-pin D-sub connector.
On the slave side to the RS 485 bus one uses a 2-wire connection via terminal connector.

Here, the use of shielded twisted-pair cables is recommended.
